Planning a September wedding? While some brides love the summer months, we think Fall is becoming more popular than ever. There are so many reasons to choose the Fall as the perfect time for your wedding. Let’s talk about some of the ways to celebrate Fall for your September wedding.
One great thing about a September wedding? The weather! In many areas, the weather for September is going to be simply beautiful. You’ll have crisp air and just a touch of that summer sun still around. But no dreadful humidity or too much heat that many of the summer brides have to deal with. This means your wedding photographs will be stunning. If you’re getting married in the Northeast you’ve also got the fall foliage, a lovely touch for your wedding photographs and to enjoy for the ceremony.
Choose gourds and fall leaves to decorate your September wedding. While summer brides have costly flowers – whether in season or flown from exotic locations, the September bride can easily choose charming gourds and colorful, vibrant Fall leaves to decorate her wedding reception and ceremony. This is not the typical wedding decoration you see everywhere – so it will be memorable for guests. Add tiny tea candles in see through containers and you’ve got a room with a lovely glow and beautiful Fall colors all around!
Consider adding touches of Fall to your September wedding menu. There are some foods that remind us more of Fall than others. Pumpkin pie, squash and apple cider are just a few. Soups, stews and casseroles also have a homey and comforting touch. These can be ideal choices for your Fall wedding in September. Make a punch from apple cider for your guests to keep them in that great September mood. Or serve tiny pumpkin pie tarts at your dessert table.
Wedding colors can easily compliment September as you have many choices. Some immediately think of “yellow” and “orange” when they think of Fall – but you truly have more choices. Think of the different shades of these colors – and also of green, brown, red and the metallic gold and copper. These are some stunning colors perfect for wedding decorations, linens and especially your bridesmaids dresses. Try dressing your bridesmaids in a muted copper or deep green for a great Fall look. Add touches of velvet if you are in a cold climate.
The September bride also has many choices of fun activities for guests. Try planning your wedding around the same time as your local county’s Fall festival. Or see what local farms have apple or pumpkin picking. Even a pumpkin carving demonstration would be lots of fun for both adults and children. Plan arts and crafts and Fall themed activities for the children – as the weather is cooler you’ll want to plan on keeping them indoors.
Yes September is one of the most lovely times for your wedding. If you’ve chosen this month, you’ve certainly chosen well. There are so many fun things you can do and plan for your September wedding. Wishing you a very happy, beautiful and memorable September wedding!
